  My Thoughts on Michael Jackson

  my personal impressions of michael jackson have only changed over the years because of his obsessions and because of the molestation accusations.

  but michael was a real genius artist and a one-of-a-kind.

  it's kind of a sad story, really, because all the time as a jehovah's witness i could see how he would be miserable - being brought to fame instantly, having to grow up without a childhood, and being haunted by that very deprivation the rest of his life... to the point of consuming him completely in seeking his lost childhood.

  What a good post and how I wish I could have my JW daughter read it.I worry for my grandchildren and funny thing I am not JW and never forced religion on my daughter even let her drop out of confirmation class(Lutheran)when she didn't like it.And have never said anything bad about JW's and even studied for a couple of years and tired to understand it.Daughter married JW and then she because Super JW and son in law was DF's for smoking last year.Weird!!!!!!!!

  Sending Out a Letter to My JW Daughter - Give Me Your Thoughts Please

  some of you probably read my jw daughter's letter to mrs. flipper and me a few weeks ago where she tried explaining to mrs. flipper why she doesn't have anything to do with me ( says i talk negative towards the organization ) .

  in that letter though she showed some flashes of her authentic, kind personality and told us she loves us.

  but much of the letter was proselytizing to us about how bad the system is and how jeovah will bring a paradise, etc.

  A lovely letter and I hope it is successful. I babysat my JW grands yesterday and it went well. My daughter and I just don't discuss JW stuff at all. But I was never baptized either just a unbaptized publisher for 1 1/2 yrs.I wish you and Mrs Flipper all the best and hope this letter starts to waken your daughter to what she is missing.

  WHO WROTE THE BIBLE??? RESPONSE TO THE NEW PUBLICATION.

  for those whow believe god authored the bible , this info will make you question your faith.

  very well done.. i would love to see how the wts would respond to this, especially after the new publication on the bible was just released at the convention.. maybe one of our inhouse scholars (narkissos/leolia) can back up this info.

  I am reading a book right now called "Jesus,Interrupted" by Bart D. Ehrman. And so far it hasn't told who wrote the bible but who didn't.I am finding this book very interesting. So many contradictions in the Bible I just never saw.

  I attended meetings for almost 2 yrs(WHY)never mind that.I saw very little true happiness lots of sickness and depression and complaining from the people I talked to.Now I did see a very few who seemed happy but not many(several older ladies actually).

  Friends, Study Partners, and then GONE...

  about a year and 12 ago, after much conversation with a jw co-worker, we began a formal study.

  we studied religiously (no pun intended) almost every week unless i was on business travel or there was a sickness or other item that precluded us from getting together.. .

  during that process, we became very strong, close friends... at least that is what i thought was happening.

  I had almost the same experience as you did. I was studying for over a year and even became an unbaptisted publisher and thought the lady I was studying with was my friend and then bam I was dropped when I didn't hurry to get baptisted like she(or higher ups) thought I should. It is very hurtful and I feel your pain but be glad you learned this before becoming a JW. I haven't been near or talked to this lady for about 4 plus months and she has called a few times and I let the answering machine pick it up and don't return her call.I think we can just consider we had a close call with a cult and were lucky.The pain will go away and remember it is nothing that you did just a JW thing.

  My "Disassociation Trio"

  at about the time i learned the truth about the "truth" and disassociated, i started to compose a trio for piano, violin and cello.

  it served as both a distraction and an outlet for my emotions at the time.

  i finished two movements and was working on a third that eventually evolved into an entirely separate piece.

  funniest things to do in the new world

  what were some of the funniest things you heard a witness say he or she would like to do in the new word?.

  the wife of the brother i studyed with said " in the new world im going to get a porpoise to teach me to swim.

  of course i think a porpoise will have better things to do (like avoiding great whites) a than teach non swimmers to swim.. another sister some 20 years ago thought it best if she & her 2 small girls should have horse riding lessons to.

  This one really threw me. Was on way to a convention(waste of time)anyway one of the sisters said in the New System her uterus would be back(she had it out in her 30;s)and she planned on having lots more children. This lady is 60. I was in shock and it was one of the things that made me start to think these people are NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!
